And this was my desk at the end of the day:
I know, I know - it just looks like I shuffled papers around, you're thinking to yourself. And that's true, in part. But I really did do some filing and other work to get that mess straightened out so that I didn't come back on Monday to that mountain of discombobulated files and half-finished projects. Let me just have my sense of accomplishment without the guilt.
And speaking of guilt, I've been reading a lot of information relating to management and leadership (topics near and dear to my career interests), and stumbled on a short editorial on Fail Spectaculary! that addresses basic human nature and most working people's insistance on diametrically opposing it. It's an interesting read, as is a related post on the perpetuated myth of the career "path".
