The weather's grand. Wish you were here!

(Image kindly...um...*borrowed* from some random blog...)

Beginning at the end of the week, I'll start posting the story I began for NaNoWriMo last month. The beginning is pretty set, and doesn't need as much polish as the rest of it, so, let's start at the start, shall we? Each part or section has a title (they are not chapters, just sections). So far I have some very tentative titles for sections, including:
  • The Accidental Shoggoth
  • A Cephalopod In Time Saves Nine
  • Enter the Shoggoth
My draft title is "From R'lyeh With Love". It's not great, though, and I don't have my heart set on it - I'm still mulling ideas over. But this gives you an idea of what to expect. Yes. Cthulu mythos. SURPRISE! Or not. Some of you know all too well my funky little obsession with the Great Dozing Tentacled Menace. People think the Mayan calendar predicts the world will end in 2012. Maybe the stars align, the earth trembles, and those who have been sleeping will awaken to usher in a new era of unimagined horrors. Wouldn't that be something, hmm?

In other news, it's darn cold out there...I think I'll stay inside where it's relatively warm and wrap myself around a nice steamy mug of cocoa. Today I have to set dates for my next travel adventure (to the Snow Belt in the middle of winter, because I'm a crazy person, obviously!), and decide if I can take a class or two this coming semester.

that sounds like a perfect day!

I like your cute section titles. the pic makes me think that Cthulu or no, he would still have to deal with an annoying kid whilst trying to sunbathe. it warms my heart, and makes me think, "yeah, that would happen". lol.

we have some FL wintery-ness!

I did neither of the things I said I wanted to do today. BUT, I did make a former colleague smile (long distance, even!), found out some...interesting news on the work front (this will have repercussions in the bright shiny new year, by all accounts), and wasted a lot of time while accomplishing not a whole heck of a lot. TA-da!
